Environmental, social and corporate governance issues may have particular consequences for investors in emerging markets, as they can have a very real impact on the performance of individual companies.
It is therefore important to consider such issues when constructing portfolios and for this reason they have always formed an integral part of the investment process at Charlemagne Capital.
We also recognize that investors may wish to align themselves more closely with this initiative, and that a consideration of environmental, social and corporate governance issues may assist them to this end.
Charlemagne Capital is therefore a signatory, as an investment manager, to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment. Subject to an overriding requirement to fulfil the investment mandates of our clients, we are committed to the active incorporation of environmental, social and corporate governance issues into not only our internal processes but also our external relationships, with the companies which we may select for our portfolios and our colleagues in the investment industry.
More information is available on the Principles for Responsible Investment website.
